Come and explore the stunning Rangitoto ki te Tonga/D'Urville Island. Bring your vehicle over on the barge and take in all the sights, including the scenic reserve which consists of expansive native bush and retired farmland to explore. Recommended to have a 4WD or AWD vehicle.
D'Urville Island is a remote and tranquil location. Taking your vehicle on the barge will allow you to drive to the Lake Moawhitu DOC Campground at Greville Harbour, or you can stay at the D'Urville Island Community Hall (for hall bookings contact Sue Savage 03 5765170).
Whether you're a motor biker, mountain biker, hiker, hunter, camper, fishermen, photographer, bird watcher, or just someone looking to escape the hustle and enjoy the serenity of nature, get a group together to come and see what D'Urville Island has to offer.
As well as vehicles, we can transport mountain bikes, quad bikes, trucks, trailers, motorbikes, small tractors and small diggers. The barge is also surveyed to carry up to 25 passengers.
We operate 5 days a week (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and are closed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Bookings are essential so please contact us for available crossing times.
All daily bookings are clustered together, however, on demand pick ups can be organised for an additional charge.
